Why the project exists

A language must live beyond memory.

Kokborok carries the history, identity, knowledge, and worldview of the Tiprasa people. Yet many words, expressions, stories, and traditional forms of knowledge remain undocumented, scattered, or difficult to access.

The Yapiri Project is building a permanent digital foundation so Kokborok can be studied, taught, written, translated, published, and used confidently in modern technology.

The three foundations

One language platform built on connected knowledge.

The dictionary, grammar, and sentence corpus are the core of the project. Together, they provide the linguistic foundation needed for education, publishing, research, translation, and language technology.
